COVID-19 is an issue at the forefront of all our lives at the moment. These are extraordinary circumstances where we are having to deal with self-isolation, social-distancing and working from home among other things.
In response to the COVID-19 crisis Meya Associates is no longer conducting mediation or coaching face-to-face. Instead we are using professional video conferencing software to offer mediation online. This is a safe, confidential environment to discuss your issues.
Lockdown Issues
Meya Associates recognises that lockdown has brought up new issues and conflicts for lots of people. Some of the problems you might be experiencing due to lockdown include:
Loneliness due to being alone more than usual, missing friends and family
Relationship breakdown due to social distancing / living in different households
Homeschooling challenges
Tensions at home due to constantly being with the same people
Working-from-home challenges e.g working in a distracting environment
Concerns caused by the furlough or even unemployment
Discussions with your employer regarding whether it is safe to return to work
ONLINE MEDIATION or COACHING
What you can expect:
Book your appointment as usual (over the phone).
You’ll receive an email with the date and time. This will also include a weblink, meeting ID and password.
Go to your online meeting by clicking the ‘Join’ link
If you don’t already have ZOOM installed you will be asked to download it
Launch ZOOM
You’ll be asked to enter your name and the meeting password
If your mediator has not connected yet, you will be sent to a ‘virtual waiting room’ to wait for them.
Click test audio and video to check your webcam and microphone are working okay
When you are connected with your coach/mediator you will see each other on video
If you have any problems we are happy to help. ZOOM works on desktop computers, laptops, tablets and smart phones, many of which have a webcam built in. Otherwise we recommend getting a plug-and-play webcam that connects by USB.
